Force India F1 team brings new aero package for Mexican GP
Force India has met its target of bringing a new aerodynamic package to the Mexican Grand Prix as it chases a podium at Sergio Perez's home Formula 1 race
Chief operating officer Otmar Szafnauer told Autosport last month that the team hoped to bring a "significant" upgrade to Mexico City and has succeeded, with a new front and rear wing among updates.
Force India is on a good run of form of late, with Perez's podium in Russia and fifth last time out in the United States moving the team 32 points clear of Lotus in the battle for fifth in the constructors' championship.
"We start with a blank sheet of paper here," said Nico Hulkenberg ahead of Sunday's race, which will be Mexico's first in 23 years.
"Generally the car performance has been good on all sorts of different track characteristics.
"We have updates this weekend which is good and promising and we should be able to score more points.
"The team has put a lot of effort into the B-spec and had lots of little updates and modifications since then.
"They have been working really hard so I'm quite pleased with that."
His team-mate Perez said Sunday's race on home soil will be the most special of his career.
"It's been more than 12 years since I raced in my country, so definitely it's going to be the biggest day of my career on Sunday," he said.
"To race in front of my whole people, all my country, it's something very special. You know how Mexicans are.
"I really hope that we can have a great result and cheer all the fans that are making the effort to come.
"It's just going to be a dream come true on Sunday to race in front of my crowd."
