Fisichella questions Honda reliability

Jordan's Giancarlo Fisichella is concerned that reliability problems with Honda's latest V10 could compromise his hopes of a good showing in front of his home crowd at Monza this weekend

Following his spectacular blow-up in the Belgian Grand Prix, however, Fisichella blew up a further two engines testing at Monza last week and said: "We have had lots of problems with the reliability in the last few weeks. But they [Honda] know why and they are very optimistic for this weekend. We will have the new step engine, which is good news, but reliability is still the issue."

Speaking of his Spa demise, Fisi said: "It was the fire that was quite scary, but that was just for a couple of seconds and then there was just a big fog."

Jordan is currently four points adrift of Sauber in the pursuit of fifth place in the constructors championship, behind F1's 'Big Three' teams and Renault.

"Honda has a new step forward with the engine for Monza," explained Jordan director of engineering Gary Anderson. "We are very positive about it because you always need more power here. A driver has to be on full throttle for the maximum time possible to get the lap time."
