Fisichella focusing on Force India job

Giancarlo Fisichella says he is not wasting any time thinking about what will happen with Ferrari until he gets a call from the Italian squad

The Force India driver has been one of men linked with the second Ferrari seat if the Maranello team decides to substitute Luca Badoer after this weekend's Belgian Grand Prix.

But Fisichella, who admitted it would be dream to race for Ferrari, says he has had no news from the historic outfit.

"Until Ferrari don't call me, I'm not concentrating on that," Fisichella told the BBC. "I'm just concentrating on Force India.

"The car has taken a step forward in the last race so we are much closer and so we opt to do well. Our target is to score points.

"If there is a call anything could happen, but as I told you, nobody called me and I'm just concentrating on that."

The Roman insisted he has been delighted with the progress shown by Force India this year, and reckons another step forward could help the team fight for the top ten regularly.

"It's impressive the job they have done so far, because we started with the development very late and with our budget which is not as big as most of the other teams we did a fantastic job," he said.

"Maybe the best job so far compared to all the other teams. Anything could happen. It's close. If we can get another step I think we can consistently getting in Q2 and why not in Q3."
