FIA Disappointed with Teams' Proposals
Formula One's ruling body, the FIA, has claimed to being 'slightly disappointed' that more progress towards the specifics of F1's 2008 regulations was not made following a meeting yesterday at the Automobile Club of Milan
The Italian meeting was attended by all F1 team principals, Bernie Ecclestone, Max Mosley, and representatives of the manufacturers involved in Formula One.
Mosley will host a press conference at Monza tomorrow, and while the governing body is keen to point out that there is no great conflict, it also points out that a specific time frame has to be followed if the 2008 rules are to be implemented in the correct fashion.
The Concorde Agreement governing Formula One requires regulations for 2008 to be in place by the end of this year and, for that to happen, they need to be in place by the end of September to go before the FIA World Motor Sport Council and the General Assembly in October.
The FIA is believed to have expected more detailed proposals to be in place following recent activity in the F1 Technical Working Group.
"I think it's fair to say that we are slightly disappointed with the proposals but progress is being made," said an FIA spokesman in Monza.
