Ferrari hope to benefit from Bahrain test

Ferrari are hoping to benefit from having tested at the Bahrain circuit earlier this year in next month's third round of the championship

The Italian squad, together with Toyota, spent six days testing at the Sakhir circuit in February.

And although the team expect the conditions to be very different, Ferrari team principal Stefano Domenicali reckons their experience will help them.

"It's clear that we'll take advantage of this most of all during the preparation for the Grand Prix," Domenicali told reporters in Malaysia.

"But the conditions are different: we tested in February, but we'll get there at the beginning of April. So temperatures are different, and the conditions too. Having spent more days there compared to the other is something positive."

The Maranello team will be aiming to score their second consecutive victory following Kimi Raikkonen's win in Sepang on Sunday.

Domenicali admitted he was trying to focus on all the positives from the weekend, but he conceded it was disappointing to lose a one-two finish.

Felipe Massa looked set for second place when he spun out of the race on lap 31.

"Well, it's clear that when we show this much potential, the regret for not getting 18 points is very strong," said Domenicali. "So it's a bitter-sweet situation.

"But I want this to be a very positive message to the entire team, to the people working everyday at home, because after the Australian GP we wanted to show it was just a below-par episode, so we reacted in the right manner."
