F1 Bahrain GP: Ricciardo says Red Bull struggling with set-up
Daniel Ricciardo has admitted that he and Red Bull Formula 1 team-mate Daniil Kvyat are still struggling to find a set-up they are comfortable with on the team's 2015 car
Red Bull has only managed one top-six finish from the first three grands prix of the season and it sits behind Sauber in fifth in the constructors' championship, just a point ahead of sister team Toro Rosso.
Much of the focus so far has been on the disappointing performance of the Renault engine but Ricciardo said getting the Red Bull's handling to his liking was also a problem.
How Red Bull-Renault could learn from McLaren-Honda
"I believe there is definitely more in the car," he said.
"In terms of set-up, I don't think myself or Daniil have found a setting we are comfortable with. That's a big chunk of time.
"China was a step forward. There's still a few balance things.
"I don't think it's a second, but it's a few tenths, and that should hopefully put us in the group with Williams."
FIXING CHINESE GP START ERROR
Ricciardo's Chinese GP was ruined by a poor start that dropped him from seventh on the grid to 17th, and he could only recover to ninth.
The Australian confirmed team boss Christian Horner's suggestion that it was a driver error that caused the slow getaway.
"After my start last week, I'm hanging out to get back on the grid and redeem myself," Ricciardo said.
"It wasn't ideal what happened but after looking through everything it was my mistake in the end.
"It's something that won't happen again. The important thing is I'm aware of why it happened.
"Definitely last year, the starts weren't the strongest on the grid so in general it's a point we need to improve."
