Encouraged Webber Targeting More Points

Jaguar driver Mark Webber is looking to score points in tomorrow's Monaco Grand Prix after setting the ninth quickest time in final qualifying.

Jaguar driver Mark Webber is looking to score points in tomorrow's Monaco Grand Prix after setting the ninth quickest time in final qualifying.

"Being in the top ten is encouraging and given our strategy I am confident that we can aim for points," said the Australian. "Strategy here is so important and looking at the times I am sure that there a few interesting strategies out there in front of us, but of course, until tomorrow we just don't know.

"Michelin has done another outstanding job for us and this coupled with our strategy will hopefully put us in a good position to move up the grid."

Webber, who had set the fastest time in Thursday's practice session, scored his first points of the season at the Spanish Grand Prix and went on to repeat the feat again in Austria two weeks ago. Both times he finished in seventh place.

Webber's teammate Antonio Pizzonia, a Monte Carlo resident, was also happy after posting the 13th quickest time.

"Today has gone well for me and I am pleased with my qualifying lap," admitted Pizzonia. "The reliability here is as important as the pace but I am certainly looking forward to getting out on track tomorrow and at a circuit that usually has high attrition, there is no reason why we will not be looking to score some points. This is my second home race so lets see what I can do."
