Disappointing test for Williams-BMW

The Williams-BMW team was disappointed at the end of this week's Silverstone test after its programme was disrupted by poor weather and mechanical problems

Ralf Schumacher and Jenson Button were only 10th and 11th quickest yesterday, 1.0s and 1.3s off the pace respectively.

'I am not entirely satisfied because I did not achieve as many laps as I would have liked,' said Schumacher. 'We have had several small problems which we are addressing, but that's why we test.'

'We have really not achieved as much at this test as we expected,' admitted technical director Patrick Head.

'Nevertheless, the car is well balanced in both wet and dry conditions. We hope to return to points scoring finishes.'

Button was more optimistic ahead of hjs first ever home grand prix however.

'I'm not too concerned as to whether the grand prix is a wet or dry race. Overall I'm pleased with my level of development and I'm sure the team will be in good shape next week.'
