CRB meeting due as JV speaks
Jacques Villeneuve has expressed his surprise at Jenson Button's decision to sign for Williams next year, on the eve of the first hearing of Formula 1's Contract Recognition Board which is due to start on Wednesday

The former world champion, who was Button's team-mate at BAR in 2003, has said he finds it hard to understand how Button's relationship with his current team fell apart - although he admits there are good reasons for the Briton to rejoin the outfit that handed him his first F1 chance.
"I was very surprised because he was always highly protected within the team, and basically that was used against me last year," said Villeneuve, referring to the way he fell out of favour at BAR once Button arrived. "But Jenson started with Williams and he is going back where he started - so I don't think there should be any surprise there.
"Obviously he feels he would do better there and that is all that matters. Things can change fast, you know, and if the team becomes political again then it might damage it."
The CRB's hearing has been brought forward to Wednesday after initially being delayed until the end of October. It is due to rule on whether Button's contract with BAR is valid or whether the Briton had the right to sign a deal with Williams.
