Coulthard Welcomes 'Valuable' Point
Red Bull's David Coulthard welcomed his fourth points finish of the season after he claimed eighth place at the Spanish Grand Prix
The Scot was back in the points after a disappointing San Marino Grand Prix, having finished in the top eight in the first three races of the season.
After a difficult race, Coulthard was happy to score a point.
"Another point which is very valuable for the team," said Coulthard. "Obviously it was quite a difficult race in many respects. On my first set of tyres I had some understeer and that switched to oversteer with my second set which slowed me a bit.
"In the final stint the car was better balanced until I flat-spotted a tyre which gave me a lot of vibration and affected my visibility, so that I had to judge my braking points from memory. My eyeballs are still rolling around in my head.
"But all in all I am quite happy with my race. I did not make any mistakes and I brought home a point."
Teammate Vitantonio Liuzzi was not so lucky, the Italian rookie retiring from the race after spinning off on lap 10.
"I had a bit of a problem with the balance," said Liuzzi. "I was all over the place. I had a problem coming out from corner 7, spun and I went off. I down shifted and the rear locked and when I applied the throttle the traction control did not work so I spun and ended up in the gravel. Up to that point my pace seamed quite good."
