Coulthard admits he needs to up his game
David Coulthard has admitted that he needs to improve his act if he is to stand any chance of catching McLaren team-mate Kimi Raikkonen in the race for the 2004 drivers' crown. The Australian Grand Prix winner admitted to Reuters that he was disappointed by his pace at the A1 Ring
The Scot, who qualified 14th for the Austrian Grand Prix after running wide on his flying lap - while Raikkonen started from the front row - struggled to find a balance with his MP4-17D all weekend.
"Imola and here obviously I've been weak in terms of only getting fifth place so I need to get my act back together in Monaco and get some good points," said Coulthard. "I was below the pace that I expected I would have here this weekend.
"I never really felt comfortable with the car...hopefully we can get a good test under our belts and get a feel for the car for Monaco because if it feels like this I don't think I will be able to push."
