Button convinced of BAR potential

Jenson Button is sure that his new BAR team will make progress up the Formula 1 grid this year, he has claimed in an exclusive interview with AUTOSPORT magazine

The Briton spent two days testing with the Honda-powered team at Jerez, Spain in December. The experience convinced him that the timing of his move from Renault is right.

"I've arrived here at the right time," Button told AUTOSPORT. "It's going to be a positive year, but the thing is how positive? They are definitely going to make a step forward, in position as well as the way they work together."

BAR boss David Richards is equally convinced that Button will thrive within the team.

"I can't comment on what it's been like in the last few years for him in F1," he said. "I just have a clear view on the environment I can provide for him in the team."
