Brawn: Ferrari Need Equitable Testing Deal
Ferrari are ready to fall into line with other teams in reaching a testing limitation agreement next year - but only if the restrictions do not put them at a disadvantage
Talks are ongoing between teams at the moment about plans to limit testing in 2006, on the back of the 30-day two-car limit agreed among all the teams apart from Ferrari this season.
And Ferrari technical director Ross Brawn has made it clear that his team are not completely against a limit on testing - but they would prefer to restriction to be on mileage rather than days.
This would allow the Italian team to use their Fiorano test track for more frequent short tests.
"We are discussing it with the other teams at the moment," said Brawn at Suzuka. "We need an equitable agreement that reflects we are happy.
"We have made some suggestions, we prefer the mileage basis, some teams accept it some do not, but we have said if you are not prepared to accept the mileage then tell us how we can have an equitable agreement.
"If we can find a solution, we are prepared to come to an agreement. But it seems to be stalling in some other areas. It seems they are having a problem finding their own agreement and we have not been invited to discuss it recently.
"If we can find something that is fair then we would be happy to join the club."
