Bernoldi Glad to be Back in Action

Brazilian Enrique Bernoldi expressed his delight on Friday after his Arrows team took part in the opening practice session for this weekend's German Grand Prix at Hockenheim.

Brazilian Enrique Bernoldi expressed his delight on Friday after his Arrows team took part in the opening practice session for this weekend's German Grand Prix at Hockenheim.

Bernoldi and teammate Heinz-Harald Frentzen both took to the track on Friday morning as Arrows avoided a repeat of the scenes at Magny-Cours last weekend when they sat out three practice sessions before deliberately failing to qualify.

The tactics in France were used to avoid scuppering any potential financial help from investors talking with the Leafield-based team, and Bernoldi admitted being happy the situation was not repeated.

"It is a very good feeling to be back in the car," Bernoldi said. "The car feels goods on every lap."

He added that he is happy with the newly-designed circuit at Hockenheim and claimed it was interesting, although he said the track was dusty in the opening session.

"The circuit is interesting to drive," he said. "We are all starting to learn the circuit a bit more and the changes are good, but the track is dirty at the moment."
