Andrew Cowan Q&A
Mitsubishi hopes to bolster its chances of taking a drivers' and makes' World Rally Championship title double by signing up Finn Toni Gardemeister for the Finnish and New Zealand WRC rounds. John McIlroy caught up with team boss Andrew Cowan to find out the reasoning behind the decision to 'triple-up'

"That's always a possibility, but I don't think it's the case. This has been a carefully calculated decision. With the car we're using, we know the situations very well and we know what parts are available. We always take test cars to the rallies anyway."
"It'd be nice to do this on a more regular basis, yes, because it does allow us to look at new drivers, bring in specialists and so forth in a less pressurised environment."
"We haven't decided that yet. It's not an issue with Katsuhiko Taguchi in Cyprus, because he's going there for a different reason, but of course we're hoping Toni will be able to help the team and Tommi and he's done well in New Zealand in the past. Our decision depends just as much on how Freddy does between now and then as it does on how Toni goes in Finland."
"Well we'd be stupid to let him fight with Tommi! I think how he drives will depend on how each event develops, both in terms of the drivers' and the manufacturers' championships."
