Aero changes gives hope to De La Rosa

Jaguar is set to unveil major aerodynamics changes on its R2 on Saturday for Monaco qualifying and newboy Pedro de la Rosa hopes he can use it to bounce back from his disappointing start with his new team

The Spaniard has not lived up to his billing since he came in for Prost-bound Luciano Burti and de la Rosa multiplied his problems by crashing out of practice on the first day on Thursday.

"I only had a handful of laps before the accident, which is never the best way to start a weekend," said de la Rosa, who is yet to finish a race for Jaguar since becoming their second driver four weeks ago.

"I got caught at one of the corners, lost control of the car and you pay heavily for your mistakes here in Monaco. But we have got a new aerodynamic package this weekend, which I think will make a difference to the performance of the car.

"We have not tested it here yet because we were worried it might get damaged if I had a crash. As you know I did, so it was probably a good idea. It looks good though and I feel positive that we could see changes in the performance of the Jaguars."

The British team scored just four points last season and is yet to score a point this year after six races.
