Adrian Sutil has been reprimanded by the Chinese Grand Prix stewards for setting a fastest sector time during first free practice in Shanghai while yellow warning flags were being waved.
The Force India driver recorded a personal best while the yellows were being waved for Fernando Alonso's stranded Ferrari, which had stopped with an engine failure.
After being summoned by the stewards to explain what had happened, and providing telemetry data, it was decided that Sutil had breached the regulations in not slowing down sufficiently and he was given a reprimand.
Michael Schumacher was also investigated for a similar breach of the rules, but after the stewards spoke to Mercedes GP team manager Ron Meadows it was deemed that the seven-time world champion had taken the necessary action and had not broken the regulations.
