McLaren has unveiled the first road car to be produced by its new supercar division, McLaren Automotive.
The MP4-12C is set to go on sale next year. Powered by a 600bhp 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine, it will cost around £150,000 and includes a host of Formula 1-inspired design features.
It is also intended to be more environmentally friendly than other supercars, and promises to have a low carbon output per horsepower.
McLaren Automotive, which is run by Ron Dennis, former boss of the F1 team, hopes to sell 1,000 of the new car in 2011, and also plans to add further models to its range over the next four years.
