Red Mist Books has withdrawn the publication of Nigel Stepney's autobiography, just days after announcing it.
The publisher's website has carried a large notice about the decision since Saturday, but publisher Lorie Coffey would not explain the sudden about-turn when contacted by autosport.com.
"All you need to know is that Red Mist Books will not be publishing it," Coffey stated. "I understand from Mr Stepney that he still intends to produce the book another way."
Stepney's book was planned to encompass his entire career in Formula One, as well as shedding light on his involvement in the spying affair that has marred the sport in recent months.
Ferrari have made it clear that they were not involved in the reasons for the book being withdrawn from publication by Red Mist Books.
