German Sebastian Vettel will race for Scuderia Toro Rosso team in 2008, it was announced on Thursday in Hungary.
Vettel has joined Toro Rosso for the remainder of the season after BMW Sauber released him from his contract as the team's third and reserve driver earlier this week.
The German driver is replacing American Scott Speed at the team, and Toro Rosso has confirmed Vettel will also race for them in 2008.
The team did not name their second driver, although Champ Car champion Sebastien Bourdais has been linked with the seat.
Vettel made his Grand Prix debut at the United States Grand Prix earlier this year, scoring a point for BMW.
