Red Bull have changed the name of their team to replace Minardi in Formula One next year from Squadra Toro Rosso to Scuderia Toro Rosso.
"We originally announced Squadra Toro Rosso but decided that Scuderia fits better and sounds better," said a Red Bull spokeswoman, confirming that the team had been entered officially under the new name.
The name still means Red Bull Team in Italian. Former champions Ferrari use scuderia, literally a stable, in their title whereas squadra is more usually used for soccer teams.
Red Bull, who already have a Red Bull Racing team after buying Jaguar from Ford a year ago, took over Minardi from Australian Paul Stoddart at the start of November.
