Ex-Red Bull Formula 1 driver Christian Klien is a guest in the latest episode of the Autosport podcast looking ahead to this weekend's Styrian Grand Prix.
Klien, the most recent Austrian driver to compete in F1, made his debut with Jaguar in 2004 and was kept on by the team when it was bought out by the energy drinks manufacturer in 2005, sharing his seat with Formula 3000 champion Vitantonio Liuzzi.
A strong end to 2005 with fifth place at the Chinese Grand Prix ensured he was kept on for 2006, but a difficult season as the team transitioned to Ferrari engines resulted in his being dropped by Red Bull, although he remained in F1 as a test driver for Honda and BMW-Sauber before a surprise three-race return with the Hispania team in 2010.
Now a prolific sportscar racer and regular pundit on Austrian TV, Klien joined Alex Kalinauckas and James Newbold to discuss the vagaries of the Red Bull Ring, Red Bull's contribution to getting F1 back on track, and reflect on his F1 career.
He also discusses his greatest races, including his pick for Autosport's Race of My Life series.
The podcast is available for listening and downloading on all good audio platforms.
