Veteran Formula 1 tech boss Pat Fry will start working at Renault next week as the Enstone team's technical director (chassis), the French squad said on Monday.
Fry will replace former chassis technical director Nick Chester, who announced his exit from the team after 19 years at the end of 2019.
Fry has had spells at Benetton, Ferrari, Manor and McLaren, whom he rejoined as engineering director in 2018 in a temporary role while the team waited for James Key's arrival.
He left McLaren during the 2019 season but had contractual obligations with the Woking team, with his 'gardening leave' originally due to run through to July.
However, Fry will finally begin working with Renault on February 5.
Renault said Fry will attend the team's season launch in Paris a week later.
