McLaren will unveil its new challenger for the 2016 Formula 1 season via an online launch on February 21.
The MP4-31 will retain its size-zero styling, as unveiled prior to the start of last season following the arrival of Honda as power-unit supplier.
McLaren confirmed its launch news via social media, taking an irreverent dig at rival Ferrari in the process.
Ferrari concluded a countdown towards an announcement by simply revealing details of a competition in which 10 fans can win a seat at the Scuderia's launch of its car on an unspecified date next month.
Via its Twitter feed, a McLaren responded: "Feeling blue? Seeing red?? You can ALL see the MP4-31 launch on Feb 21! #McLarenMP431"
McLaren has confirmed to Autosport the launch will be online - with video and pictures - rather than a rollout at Barcelona's Catalunya circuit, where the first of the two pre-season tests is due to start the following day on February 22.
