Lewis Hamilton says he is "much happier" with his Mercedes Formula 1 car this season than he was with the design that took him to the 2014 title.
The Briton took 11 grand prix wins from 19 rounds last year, and has triumphed four times in the opening seven rounds of 2015.
"I'm happy with the car," said Hamilton.
"Generally I think I'm much happier in this car this year than I was even in last year's car.
"I don't know why, I just feel more comfortable in this one."
He believes some of the difference comes from being ever more settled with Mercedes and the team's growing knowledge of his needs now the partnership is into its third year.
"It has taken some time to work with this new team and really mould this car, in terms of braking and everything, into what I need and it's working well now," said Hamilton.
"I think I'm faster this year, which is a good thing."
After winning three of the first four races, Hamilton was beaten by team-mate Nico Rosberg in Spain and then lost a near-certain victory following a team error in Monaco.
But he hit back in Canada and brought his championship lead back up to 17 points.
