it's a Vettel-Hamilton front row tomorrow. It's a Leclerc-Ricciardo second row. Here's your quali report, and we'll see you tomorrow for the Canadian Grand Prix, where the winner will take it Montre-all. See ya then!
Got your breaths back yet? Good, because that was a stunning session. Excitement, drama - the lot. Vettel is your pole starter tomorrow, there's a Renault on row two, Bottas has some charging to do, Verstappen's going to be a factor...the scene's set for a fun one tomorrow.
Leclerc: "I struggled with the car, with the setup maybe. I felt good in Q1, but didn't really follow the track as it was getting better. Congratulations to Seb, he completely deserves it and hopefully I'll have a better race on my side."
Hamilton: "I don't know for whatever reason, I don't feel disappointed. This is good, this is how racing should be. Tomorrow, the racing should be interesting!"
"He's bloody good in qualifying, hard to crack!" says Vettel, motioning at Hamilton. "Really enjoyed it, very happy for the team, the last weeks have been quite tough for us."
Q3 results: 1 Vettel, 2 Hamilton, 3 Leclerc, 4 Ricciardo, 5 Gasly, 6 Bottas, 7 Hulkenberg, 8 Norris, 9 Sainz, 10 Magnussen (no time, obviously).
Gasly improved at the chequered flag, demoting Bottas to sixth but coming up 0.008s short of Ricciardo.
Hamilton will complete the front row, ahead of Leclerc - some seven tenths down on Vettel - and the phenomenal Ricciardo.
Hamilton is purple in sector one, purple in sector two - he will beat Bottas, but will he beat the Ferraris in the final sector?
Bottas' first sector is a scrappy 19.5s, two tenths slower than Hamilton and Vettel and a tenth slower than Leclerc.
Gasly sorts himself out with his second effort, clearing Hulkenberg's Renault to move up to fourth place. He's still a second off Hamilton's provisional pole.
Maybe that was just Bottas's rally chops coming to the fore, but even that was a bit too lairy for the stages...
Leclerc gives it another go on this set of softs, but he doesn't improve by much and remains third, six tenths off the pace.
Well, gravy my poutine and call me Chuck, how on earth did Bottas keep that out of the wall?! A spin on the exit of T2, his tyres unload and he's somehow managed to collect that up.
Current order: 1 Hamilton, 2 Vettel, 3 Leclerc, 4 Hulkenberg, 5 Gasly, 6 Ricciardo, 7 Sainz, 8 Bottas (no time), 9 Norris (no time), 10 Magnussen (no time).
Quite a tepid lap from Gasly, as a brief yellow flies for someone going off - presumably Bottas. It's green now, don't worry.
It's an initial 1m12.185s from Gasly, which isn't fantastic - it wouldn't have been enough to take him into Q3.
Every other driver who's made Q3 is still waiting in the pits, as Gasly begins his first flying lap.
The delayed Q3 session finally gets going. 12 minutes - and a bit after the chequered flag - to decide the Canadian GP pole-sitter.
"We will review what happened at the bridge," Albon is told. What happened is that Eden Hazard used to play there, and now he won't anymore.
