Our report on Kimi Raikkonen's first victory since rejoining Ferrari in 2014 is now available.
"I'm not sure how the strategy ended up like that," says Hamilton regarding his 12-second deficit to Raikkonen when he rejoined from his second stop.
"I naturally thought we would have been able to do better, but this was the best we were able to do in the end," Hamilton continues, "But it was great we got to do some racing, at least."
"Congratulations to Kimi - he did a great job today, no mistakes," says a magnanimous Hamilton. "Verstappen did a great job as well - he was on a slightly better tyre than us at the end, so naturally [it was] a bit of a struggle."
"A bit unexpected," reports Verstappen in Red Bull's latest overalls-based fashion atrocity. "At the end we could put a bit of pressure on, but unfortunately I ran out of tyres in the last three-four laps."
"It was a great and good battle, that's what we all want as drivers and the people here," declares Raikkonen, who does, it must be said, look pretty pleased with himself. And deservedly so.
"Obviously I'm much happier than finishing second," says Raikkonen when asked how pumped up he is to win. He doesn't sound it.
"It's been a great weekend, the car has been pretty good all the time," says Raikkonen, who doesn't sound much happier than he was to qualify third yesterday. No doubt the internet will decide this is brilliant for some reason.
"Great job", come the shouts of delight from the Austin crowd as Raikkonen celebrates in parc ferme.
Raikkonen climbs from his car to take his first win in 113 races - which he took for Lotus back in Australia 2013.
Understatement from Verstappen, who declares second place from 18th on the grid "a bit of a surprise".
The bleep machine is out in force on Raikkonen's radio. We think his message was along the lines of "finally".
Ocon held off Magnussen to seal eighth, with Perez just behind - they had to complete an extra lap as Raikkonen ended up just short of lapping the trio.
Verstappen is two seconds behind Raikkonen now, so the Finn starts the final lap on course for a victory at last.
Hamilton did all he could there, but Verstappen was shrewd, and the Mercedes caught the kerb on the outside of T17/18, which flicked him out into the run-off.
Great racing from Verstappen and Hamilton there, giving each other just enough space. F1 racing at its best.
Verstappen defends into Turn 13, Hamilton tries to switch back, they go side by side, and Hamilton takes to the outside in Turns 17 and 18! But Verstappen holds on, and Hamilton is off the track!
Hamilton takes a wide line into the Turn 11 hairpin, hoping to get a mega exit to get a run at Verstappen.
If Verstappen has lost DRS behind Raikkonen, that costs him a valuable weapon in his defence against Hamilton.
Hamilton had DRS on Verstappen into Turn 12 that time, but the Red Bull held on, and Hamilton got a little bit out of shape, losing time on the exit.
Ocon and Magnussen are just 0.5s apart, with Perez 1.7s further back - they're the next trio of cars the leaders will catch to lap.
