It's a Friday sweep for Ferrari then. A good sign - granted, Hamilton looked like he left some time on the table in the final sector, but Ferrari tends to find more time overnight.
Red Bull pair Verstappen and Ricciardo finish fourth and sixth respectively, with Vettel between them. Perez, Sainz and the two Sauber cars make up the top 10.
The chequered flag is out. Kimi Raikkonen, already out of the car, tops FP2 from Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas.
"Stoffel, we need to find a bit more pace, we're looking for half a second to a second more pace if it's there. You should get two laps after this, let's see what it can do." That's surely a rather tough message to hear for a driver.

A little under four minutes left on the clock - Hamilton, Bottas and Verstappen are in the pits.
Hard to read too much into the long runs here, given the usual caveats and the traffic, but it should be said that the times coming in from Ferrari have looked very convincing.

Ocon is asked whether he's "saving" at Pouhon, and replies that he is not.
"I'm stuck in traffic," Hamilton reports. Yeah, it's FP2 alright.
Bottas has picked up a big flat spot on the left front tyre of his 15-lap-old set of softs. Hamilton, meanwhile, has locked the right front on entry to La Source, but looks to have gotten away with it without too much damage.
"This run [on softs] more competitive than supersofts, looking good," Hulkenberg is told. His reply? "Not surprised."

Pitstop practice for the Red Bull crew as Ricciardo swaps supersofts for softs.

All the tyre compounds are getting a good run-out here in the long runs, with Vettel and Hamilton running mediums after initial supersoft stints, while their respective teammates have lapped on supersofts and softs.

Force India asking for more "front energy management" from Perez, but not before sweetening the deal with a "that lap was a second faster than Hulkenberg".
"Rears are definitely struggling there, how is the pace?" Hamilton asks. "Lewis, the pace looks good - Valtteri was pushing hard as he was doing a very short stint on his tyre."

Verstappen is told "Hamilton last lap a 48.9, that's five laps in", as the Briton enters the pitlane for a practice pitstop.
Hamilton is locking up all over the place on his supersoft long run.
This is looking to be a genuinely miserable weekend to McLaren, at a track that doesn't quite suit the draggy, Renault-powered MCL33. That car hits the rev limiter almost right away on approach to Blanchimont.
Vandoorne is the last driver to record a supersoft lap, and he's four tenths off Alonso - which isn't enough to lift him above P20.
Raikkonen ran wide on exit of Les Combes there, helpfully kicking up a lot of dirt.

Ocon has had another go at joining Perez in the top 10 there, but couldn't improve his time. It's been a messy session on his end, but the car looks ultra-competitive here.
FP2 order right now:
1 Raikkonen, 1m43.355s
2 Hamilton, +0.168s
3 Bottas, +0.448s
4 Verstappen, +0.691s
5 Vettel, +0.777s
6 Ricciardo, +0.895s
7 Perez, +1.307s
8 Sainz, +2.126s
9 Ericsson, +2.182s
10 Leclerc, +2.267s
11 Hulkenberg, +2.398s
12 Grosjean, +2.462s
13 Ocon, +2.580s
14 Magnussen, +2.723s
15 Gasly, +2.725s
16 Alonso, +2.798s
17 Hartley, +2.982s
18 Sirotkin, +3.096s
19 Stroll, +3.115s
20 Vandoorne, +5.125s
But we were still due a supersoft lap from McLaren, and Alonso finally delivers one. It puts him 16th, between the Toro Rosso cars of Gasly and Hartley.
Bottas is now lapping five seconds off the pace, so we must be into everyone's favourite part of F1 practice - the long run simulations.
"Checo, no energy button, do not use energy button this lap," Perez is told.
Smooth practice start from Bottas as he re-emerges from the pits on the same set of supersofts.
