This is turning into a decent day for Haas, with Gutierrez now on his 72nd lap and showing respectable pace. Positive start for F1's new team.
The most number of laps over the eight days of testing in Barcelona last year was 159 on the final day from Sauber's Felipe Nasr. Rosberg is now well beyond that mark.
Vettel, Rosberg, Verstappen and Ericsson are the only drivers on the track right now. Rosberg is in the high 1m27s. Only his 164th lap now.
An interesting nugget revealed by Gene Haas - the Ferrari engine spec being used in testing at present isn't the Melbourne one - an 'evolution' is planned before then:
Rosberg has indeed passed Vettel. Meanwhile, Perez is lapping consistently in the 1m32s on a set of softs. That's around three seconds off the pace of the Mercedes and Ferrari, suggesting the Mexican either has a lot of tyre degradation or is on a high-fuel run.
Earlier today news broke that Honda was replacing its F1 chief Yasuhisa Arai. The man himself has been talking about the decision and his role in a very tough 2015 season for the McLaren-Honda partnership:
Less than a tenth in it next time around, and Rosberg looked poised to overtake Vettel on the main straight.
Rosberg is currently chasing Vettel around with both the Mercedes and the Ferrari out on medium tyres. Rosberg was nearly seven tenths faster than Vettel last time through, so is catching quite rapidly.
Bottas has just gone quicker in the Williams, improving to a 1m25.648s best. He's still sixth fastest overall though.
Sounds as though Vettel is practicing the start procedure. He's driven through the pits and revved the engine in a particular sequence before stopping at the other end to do a start and rejoin the action.
Vettel has just headed back out in the Ferrari. More than 100 laps already marks a substantial improvement over yesterday for the Scuderia.
Ricciardo is now out after half-an-hour in the pits. He's out on mediums. Gutierrez, on softs, is not far behind him.
Ericsson, Bottas, Gutierrez and Alonso are currently on track. Bottas is on hards at the moment and lapping in the high 1m31s bracket.
Gutierrez is now up to seventh on a 1m25.873s - just a thousandth slower than Bottas's best time in the Williams. He's on soft rubber.
We've had only three red flags so far in pre-season testing. One for the Haas wing failure yesterday, and stoppages today caused by Toro Rosso and Renault.
