10:46 So, all said and done there were no major shocks from the track action - it is practice after all - with the sessions that count coming up tomorrow at the Italian GP. Be sure to swing back around in the morning for FP3 which starts at 11:00 BST (12:00 local time) before qualifying at 14:00 BST (15:00 local time). Go well!
10:42 Here's the full report on FP2 ahead of the Italian GP:
10:40 It was also a somewhat mixed session for Ferrari, with Leclerc ninth and Vettel P12, which is an improvement on its Spa struggles but both drivers had off-track excursions.
10:36 Not the best of sessions for Williams on what will be an emotional race weekend, with Latifi in P19 and Russell in last place having struggled with car handling issues.
10:34 Verstappen has to settle for fifth place for Red Bull ahead of Sainz and Kvyat, with Stroll, Leclerc and Perez completing the top 10. Both Albon (P14) and Ricciardo (P15) had key lap times deleted for exceeding track limits, so you would expect them to also challenge for the top 10 places.
10:31 Hamilton takes the headlines by topping FP2 ahead of Bottas, with Norris in third place ahead of AlphaTauri's Gasly despite both of them being hit with car issues during this session.
10:30 The chequered flag is out at the end of FP2.
10:28 That lap by Norris has been set when the track has been rubbered in more compared to when his rivals did their soft tyre runs, but it is still a solid effort. The Mercedes duo remain the class of the field with Hamilton leading Bottas as FP2 begins to wind down.
10:25 Good news Norris fans, the McLaren driver is back on track and it looks like his engine worries have disappeared as he bolts up to P3 with a 1m21.089s.
10:22 Gasly runs on at the first chicane and is easing his AlphaTauri around the lap and back to the pits. According to the timing screen he was on an out-lap so the issue must have struck very early coming out of the pits.
10:19 "The car is so hard to drive," Leclerc says over his Ferrari radio. We can see what he means.
10:19 Leclerc has an almost identical incident to his Ferrari team-mate as he briefly loses control of his car at the Lesmos but backs out of it and runs across the grass.
10:17 Vettel's spin was right in front of former team-mate Ricciardo who had to hit the brakes and wait for the Ferrari to come to a halt. It looks like Vettel has escaped any major damage aside from some flat spotted tyres.
10:14 Vettel spins at the Lesmos. The Ferrari driver is OK to continue after losing control of the rear of his car with his rear wing bumping off the inside barrier.
10:12 19 drivers are on track completing race runs with just under 20 minutes of FP2 to go. Norris is the unlucky driver stuck in the garage.
10:11 Albon is another driver who is continually being stung for exceeding track limits at the final corner. Got to keep inside the white lines, that'd be the best advice.
10:09 Russell has a lap time deleted for track limits and radios to his Williams team his car is "feeling soft".
