Peugeot to run Breen, Abbring in 2014 European Rally Championship

Breen took third place in the 2013 standings as part of the Sainteloc-run Peugeot Rally Academy programme.

He will now be joined by former Volkswagen protege Abbring, who drove an R2-spec Sainteloc Peugeot in France last season after VW elected not to bring him into its World Rally Championship programme.

Peugeot has also registered for the ERC's new Manufacturers' Cup.

It is replacing its long-serving 207 Super 2000 car with the new 208 T16 next season. Breen and sometime WRC driver Kris Meeke have both been heavily involved in the T16 test programme.

The new car will officially be homologated on March 1 2014, making it available to ERC teams from round four of the series in Greece onwards.
