Meeke crashes in Scotland test

Intercontinental Rally Challenge champion Kris Meeke crashed his Peugeot 207 S2000 on Monday morning

Meeke crashes in Scotland test

The Northern Irishman's final test ahead of this week's Rally of Scotland - the last round of this year's IRC - was delayed briefly while the Kronos Racing team fixed the car. Meeke, the winner of four rallies already this season, is running again now.

He said: "It was an innocuous-enough thing. I clipped a log which was hidden in the grass about three inches off the road and that dinked a steering arm. That's all.

"The guys changed the steering arm in about 15 minutes and that was it, we were away and driving again. It's really not a problem, we've done some running since and the car feels very good."

Meeke will continue to test for the rest of the day, before starting the recce for the Rally of Scotland on Tuesday and the event itself on Thursday evening. Meeke's chief rival Guy Wilks is also testing in another part of Scotland. The Darlington driver is competing in a Skoda Fabia S2000 for the first time.
