Skoda will expand its European Rally Championship factory team to three cars for its home rally in the Czech Republic next month.
Points-leading Skoda regular Jan Kopecky will be joined for Rally Zlin by Skoda's WRC2 duo Esapekka Lappi and Sepp Wiegand.
The event is set to be rising star Lappi's second ever asphalt rally.
AUTOSPORT understands that Skoda is keen to give its long-serving Fabia S2000 the best possible chance of success on its home event, which it has won every year since 2009, before the new R5 cars take precedence.
Skoda has won five of this season's seven ERC rounds so far with Kopecky and Freddy Loix.
Peugeot drivers Bryan Bouffier and Francois Delecour are both working on deals for Zlin, but Craig Breen and Robert Kubica will not rejoin the series until Poland in September.
Leading local drivers will also contest the event, including former World Rally Championship factory driver Roman Kresta in another Skoda.
