Warm-up: Alesi on the rebound
Jean Alesi went a small way in making up for the fact he was denied a shot at pole position yesterday, due to gearbox failure, by topping the DTM raceday warm-up times at Adria
Alesi lapped his AMG Mercedes in 1m12.112s to keep Bernd Schneider in second spot, a place he's becoming accustomed to this weekend. Christijan Albers kept his momentum moving in a positive direction with the third fastest time, albeit almost half a second down on the top two, while polesitter Marcel Fassler was fourth to ensure the 2003-spec Mercs ruled the roost.
Timo Scheider took over the mantle of top Opel runner from Peter Dumbreck with the fifth fastest time, ahead of Audi's swiftest driver of the weekend thus far, Mattias Ekstrom. Jeroen Bleekemolen (Opel) was just ahead of the impressive Team Rosberg Mercs of Stefan Mucke and Patrick Huisman. Martin Tomczyk rounded out the top 10.
