Scheider heads Zandvoort warm-up
Timo Scheider headed the timesheets in warm-up for the DTM round at Zandvoort, despite a late trip through the gravel
The Abt Audi driver had already set his session-topping time of 1m32.951s when he ran wide at the fast Scheivlak corner, filling his car with gravel and forcing him into the pits with a couple of minutes still to run.
Filipe Albuquerque was a surprising second quickest in his older-spec Rosberg Audi, with the similar, Phoenix-run car of Martin Tomczyk third.
Front-row qualifier Jamie Green was the only non-Audi driver in the top seven, the HWA Mercedes driver in fourth.
After his problems in qualifying, Mattias Ekstrom was a much improved fifth for Abt with his team-mates Mike Rockenfeller and Miguel Molina next up.
Ralf Schumacher (HWA), Oliver Jarvis (Abt) and polesitter Bruno Spengler (HWA) completed the top 10, ahead of Maro Engel, who took a late trip through the gravel at Arie Luyendykbocht late on.
