Scheider expects Audi to keep form
Timo Scheider believes that Audi can continue their strong start to the DTM season at Oschersleben this weekend
The 2004 champions came close to taking all three places on the podium in the season-opener at Hockenheim, and Scheider believes that their performance justified the work that the team had put in during the winter.
"We had a hard winter time, and before we went to Hockenheim we did not know if we would be competitive or not," he told autosport.com.
"We showed the whole weekend that we have good performance, and that was the main thing for me."
Mattias Ekstrom's victory at Hockenheim means that all of the 2007-spec Audi's will have to carry an extra seven kilograms of success ballast for the next race, while Mercedes will be able to run seven kilograms lighter than they did in Hockenheim.
However, Scheider believes that the Audi A4 will continue to be strong at Oschersleben, where it has won twice in the past three years.
"Oschersleben is a track where we always perform well with the Audi," he said.
"The seven kilograms is a small negative effect, but it's nice to put the weight on because it means you are successful."
