Practice 2: Albers out front

Mercedes driver Christijan Albers, who moved over from Team Rosberg to the works AMG squad on the eve of this year's season opener, set the pace in the second of today's (Friday) practice sessions for this weekend's DTM race in Adria, Italy

The Dutchman was called up to the crack AMG team after Mercedes split with driver Uwe Alzen. Albers repaid the faith shown in him by the German manufacturer to head the practice times, which were dominated by Mercedes drivers.

Marcel Fassler was second fastest, just 0.003s slower than Albers, with Bernd Schneider and Jean Alesi completing an AMG tour of the top four positions.

Brit Peter Dumbreck lead the non-Mercedes charge, setting the fifth-best time in his Team Phoenix Opel Astra. Mattias Ekstrom was the fastest Audi runner in sixth, witrh reigning champ Laurent Aiello tenth.
