Opel finalises 2003 line-up

Opel has announced its team line-up for this year's DTM series, with former British Touring Car champion Alain Menu effectively being promoted to a berth alongside its unofficial number one driver, Manuel Reuter, at Team Holzer

Reuter won the 1996 International Touring Car title for Opel, its biggest success in its touring car history. He also led its title offensive against Mercedes-Benz in 2000, but has struggled along with his Opel colleagues since then as the Astra has been uncompetitive in the main.

Menu moves across from Euroteam to Holzer, while Timo Scheider switches from Holzer to Team Phoenix, for whom Reuter drove last year. He will be joined by Scotland's Peter Dumbreck, who has defected from the Mercedes ranks in search of a 2003-spec machine.

Team Euroteam will field a pair of 2003-spec cars for Joachim Winkelhock, whose form has been disappointing in recent seasons but whose stock remains high with the fans, and young Dutchman Jeroen Bleekemolen.
