No joy for the Brits

Dumbreck finished 14th in the first race, after a collision with Opel's Timo Scheider in the opening stages, before claiming a ninth placed finish in the second heat, despite another collision with Scheider and a spin.

"The incident with Scheider in the first race was my mistake, and he blocked the track in front of me so I couldn't keep going," said Dumbreck. "I was going to start the second race on slicks, but didn't have enough time to change from wets because the three-minute board had been shown.

"I would have been alright, but I spun on the lap I was coming into the pits, which ruined things. But at least I got a couple of points from this weekend."

Turner mananged to finish 11th and 12th in the two races, but was far from happy with his car.

"I was on the pace of my team-mate Pedro Lamy in the first race, which was good, but in the second race my handling was atrocious," he said. "I was sliding all over the place and then late in the race I was too cautious with the leaders lapping me and I lost two places to cars I was fighting for position with. I will be much better prepared next time."
