Lausitzring DTM: Jamie Green dominates for Audi in qualifying again
Jamie Green picked up where he left off in Saturday's Lausitzring DTM race in Sunday qualifying, leading another all-Audi top four
Green claimed his second win of the season on Saturday afternoon to move into the championship lead, and was the driver to catch in qualifying for Sunday's longer race.
While Audi stablemates Nico Muller, Miguel Molina and Timo Scheider all enjoyed brief spells at the top, Green was never far away.
His final effort to reclaim top spot was telling.
A 1m17.386s lap was eventually 0.520 seconds clear of his closest challenger - the same margin covered the rest of the field.
Mattias Ekstrom finished the session second, ahead of Scheider and Molina, while BMW's Maxime Martin prevented an Audi sweep of the top five with a lap completed after the chequered flag.
Edoardo Mortara took fifth, Muller eighth and Mike Rockenfeller ninth, to make it seven of the eight Audis inside the top nine.
Daniel Juncadella was the best of the Mercedes drivers in 10th, one spot ahead of Gary Paffett, while Maximilian Gotz failed to turn a lap.
Timo Glock was responsible for the session's only major moment, a wild oversteer spin through Turn 7, on his way to 21st place.
