Frentzen Quick in the Rain

Opel have concentrated on developing a good wet weather setup, and on the day's evidence they seem to have found it, before spending most of the afternoon practicing pitstops.

After the session Frentzen noted: "In preparing for the season this wet weather practice has been very important." Opel will clearly be hoping for more rain when the season commences.

DTM champion Mattias Ekström ran his first ever laps around Spa at the wheel of a 2004 Joest Audi, while ex-Formula One champion Mika Hakkinen was a lowly twelfth fastest on his DTM debut on the track that he has enjoyed so much in the past.

Both drivers were hoping for some dry running on the final day of the test, but unfortunately they are likely to be disappointed - local forecasts suggest more rain is on the way.
