Al-Attiyah confirmed his team would be running a third buggy in South America next January and added that Loeb would be an ideal candidate for the seat.
While talks about the project are believed to have taken place, Loeb insisted there would be no time for him contesting the marathon event early next season.
"At the moment, there's nothing, there's no plan me to do Dakar," he said.
"I cannot do everything at the same time.
"In the future? Why not, maybe it's interesting, but for now I am trying to go to racing."
Loeb has now contested three of his four planned World Rally Championship rounds this season. His main programme is with his McLaren team in the FIA GT Series, and he is also tackling the Pikes Peak hillclimb with Peugeot.
