WIN - GOODWOOD MEMBERS’ MEETING GENERAL ADMISSION TICKETS
For the 78th Goodwood Members’ Meeting across the 28-29 March weekend
Tickets for the Members' Meeting are usually only available to book for patrons of the Goodwood Road Racing Club, which means it’s a race event that feels altogether more intimate than the Revival or Festival of Speed.
The Gerry Marshall Trophy races – for 1970-82 Group 1 saloons such as the Ford Capri, Rover SD1 and Chevrolet Camaro – have proved a smash hit with fans over the years and will return in 2020.
A new arrival for the Members’ Meeting is the Rally Sprint stage. Four decades’ worth of World Rally Championship machinery will compete down the Goodwood Motor Circuit’s main straight, the pitlane and Woodcote corner across both days.
The highly anticipated track parades, celebrating specific motorsport themes each year, will spotlight the success of Jaguar’s Group C sportscar programme and the revolutionary Lotus 72, which celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2020.
The 72 was entered by Team Lotus for six Formula 1 seasons between 1970 and 1975 – unheard of today. It introduced pioneering technology such as in-board disc brakes, which didn’t catch on, and radiators mounted in the sidepods, now a mainstay. Come its retirement, the 72 had amassed 20 grand prix victories, two drivers’ titles and three constructors’ championships.
