Team Dynamics returns with Howell
The British Touring Car Championship's most accomplished privateer team in recent history, Team Dynamics, will return to the series from the Snetterton round on August 9
The team will enter a Touring Class specification Vauxhall Astra for former Atomic Kitten MG racer Gareth Howell. Although it has backed drivers at GA Motorsport this season, the last time Team Dynamics raced in the BTCC was in 2001.
"Ever since Silverstone, Steve [Neal] and the Team Dynamics guys have been working round the clock to get us back out," said Howell, 22, who raced for GA in a one-off outing at Silverstone. "I think we showed then that we were on the pace straightaway and we both have some unfinished business in the Independents' championship."
The car Howell will drive has been loaned from the father of works Honda driver Tom Chilton.
Dynamics boss Steve Neal said: "The most successful independent teams is back and ready to kick arse! I was really impressed with Gareth at Silverstone. He was straight on the pace, even though he'd never driven an Astra or left-hand drive before."
