Snetterton 2: Neal leads Honda 1-2

The British Touring Car Championship experienced a Vauxhall-free podium for the first time this season in the second race at Snetterton today (Saturday), as Matt Neal lead team-mate Alan Morrison in a Honda one-two

The first cracks in Vauxhall's armour occurred when high water temperature forced championship leader Yvan Muller out of the race on lap eight. The Frenchman's second retirement of the year appeared to hand a huge boost to team-mate and title rival James Thompson, who ran a comfortable second behind Neal.

However, Thompson's Vauxhall engine expired with just two laps to go, allowing Morrison to move up to second behind his team-mate.

Anthony Reid finished third for MG, ahead of team-mate Colin Turkington and the third Honda of Tom Chilton. Rob Collard was the highest Independent driver in sixth.

Tom Boardman took victory in the Production class, overcoming race one class winner Luke Hines and Alan Blencowe.

Matt Neal Honda 31m33.337s
Alan Morrison Honda +0.335s
Anthony Reid MG +3.494s
Colin Turkington MG +3.9055s
Tom Chilton Honda +5.148s
Rob Collard Vauxhall +5.647s
