Smith joins Eurotech for 2011

Jeff Smith will race in the British Touring Car Championship full-time next year after joining Eurotech Racing

The 44-year-old Clio Cup regular will drive a Vauxhall Vectra powered by the TOCA engine.

"It's great to have my plans set in place for 2011," said Smith, who made a one-off appearance in the BTCC this year at Knockhill with Triple 8.

"I really have a taste for it now and I'm really fortunate to be able to do the BTCC with a race-winning team."

Eurotech will run Smith in the Vectra used by Pinkney Motorsport this year, and aims to field him alongside Andrew Jordan, who won twice this year in a Vectra run under the Pirtek Racing banner.

"The intention is to run two cars," team principal Mike Jordan told AUTOSPORT. "But we're still in the process of making sure we have the deal in place to run Andy. Fingers crossed we'll be able to do that."

Eurotech finished eighth in the BTCC teams' championship this year and sixth in the independent teams' standings.
