Race 1: Neal cruises
Nothing could stop Matt Neal in the first race of the British Touring Car Championship at Brands Hatch as he took a lights to flag victory
The only real action of the race came when the Safety Car was despatched after Neal's Team Computeach Racing team-mate Dan Eaves' car caught fire. Neal took the re-start just as he did the first getaway, sprinting away into the distance.
Yvan Muller brought his car home in second spot ahead of VX Racing team-mate James Thompson as the title battle between the two hots up nicely.
It wasn't such plain sailing for Knockhill winner Anthony Reid who had a miserable first race in his WSR MG that was weighed down with success ballast - he had to settle for 12th spot.
Michael Bentwood lines up on pole for the second race after displacing Colin Turkington for the coveted 10th position on the final lap of the race. He will line up alongside SEAT's Jason Plato.
