Nash to miss Knockhill races
James Nash will miss this weekend's British Touring Car Championship triple-header at Knockhill for budgetary reasons
The 23-year-old series rookie plans to return to the RML Chevrolet team for at least two of the final three rounds of the season though, at Silverstone, Rockingham and Brands Hatch.
"I am disappointed to be missing Knockhill, but unfortunately funding is limited so we had to take the tough decision," said Nash.
"We've made some big improvements since my first race at Oulton Park and, as Snetterton proved, both myself and the car have the pace to challenge at the top and finish in the points.
"We are doing absolutely all that we can with RML and our potential sponsors and partners to secure a deal for what I hope will be at least another two events this year."
Nash, who stepped up from the Spanish SEAT Cupra Cup last year, has been steadily making progress in the BTCC since making his debut at Oulton Park in May.
He took victory on the road last time out at Snetterton, only to be disqualified for triggering an incident that eliminated both Rob Collard and Stephen Jelley from the race.
"The purpose of this season was to prove that I have the speed and capability to run at the front, and to aid the search for sponsors in order to complete the rest of the year and launch a full 2010 BTCC campaign," he added.
"I hope my results at Snetterton have shown all the teams and potential partners that I am a serious driver and can deliver on results and speed. My aim for the future is to demonstrate that Snetterton was just the start and not a one off.
"I am determined to be back in the car as soon as possible, taking as many points finishes as I can."
