Muller Denies Dynamics a Third Win

Yvan Muller denied Team Dynamics a second successive British Touring Car Championship clean sweep, with victory in race three at Brands Hatch

Muller breezed past race leader James Pickford's SEAT on lap eight to take a lead he would never lose, despite being under pressure from the Dynamics Honda Integra of Dan Eaves in the closing stages.

Pickford led from the start after Lexus driver Ian Curley, on pole by dint of the reverse grid regulations, made a poor getaway, but not before there was contact with the fast-started MG ZS of Rob Collard at Paddock. Collard spun into the gravel, bringing out the safety car.

After losing out to Muller at the restart, the second Vauxhall of Gavin Smith found its way past at Druids on lap nine, only to be hit by Pickford at the exit of the corner and spin into the tyre barrier. This allowed Eaves, who had emerged unscathed from a collision with Curley on the run to Paddock, to get on terms with him and make his move at Clearways on lap 10.

Eaves closed onto Muller's tail by the finish, but was unable to make a serious move. Behind him, Jason Plato emerged from an uncharacteristically quiet race with his second podium finish of the day.

James Kaye made amends for losing a top-five position on the last lap of race two to take a season-best fourth place in his Synchro Motorsport Honda Civic Type-R, with the Vauxhall of Colin Turkington holding off Matt Neal, winner of race one and two, and Tom Chilton.
