Gordon Shedden's problems continue at Snetterton British Touring Car weekend
Gordon Shedden's British Touring Car Championship challenge has been dented again by electrical issues at Snetterton
Despite electrical gremlins at the Brands Hatch opener, Shedden arrived at Snetterton just one point behind works Honda team-mate and championship leader Matt Neal.
Shedden suffered a fire in free practice at Snetterton, but the Dynamics squad repaired the badly damaged car in time for qualifying.
The Scot made it out on track, only for more problems to briefly leave him stranded, bringing out the red flags. Shedden made it back to the pits, but the problem has proved hard to trace and he is not confident the Civic will be fully ready for the three races.
"In practice it coughed, like it was out of fuel, and I went for pitlane," said Shedden. "I saw a small flame and tried to get to my pits, but halfway down the car was on fire and I got out pretty quickly.
"They've replaced almost everything in front of the bulkhead, but now we've got electrical problems. It's like Brands and we're scratching our heads, which is not good."
While Shedden will start Sunday's first race from the back, team-mate Neal will start seventh and main title rival Jason Plato has qualified second in his works MG6.
